Founded in September '09 by Veteran Arizona Derby Dame, Hether Van Zante, A.k.A. Hether Skelter; RVRG is the Wausau area's original all girl, flat track Roller Derby League.
A Wisconsin native, Hether first developed her amazing Skating abilities on the ice and at the now sadly defunct Local High Roller Rink.

Our Skaters must first undergo a rigorous 12 week
( 24 practice ) initial Training and evaluation period and successfully pass our requisite Skills Test prior to being placed on a Team.

From the Heart of the Wisconsin River Valley
Modern, all Female Flat Track Roller Derby is more than a sport; since 2001 it has manifested itself in various forms and has Truly evolved into a Culture all it's own.
Having roots in a spectator sport first conceived in the more innocent post Depression era, the current incarnation has become an increasingly popular avenue for Female empowerment and self expression.
Our League membership consists of Ladies from all walks of life and with skill levels ranging from complete novice to seasoned Veteran Skaters.
We currently practice twice weekly, focusing on core strength, endurance and basic skating ability, in addition to the fundamental and strategic principles of the game.
The sport is conducted in Bouts between two Teams, each with 5 players on the track competing for points. Each is made up of a Pivot, 3 Blockers and a scoring player known as a Jammer. The basic objective is for the Jammers to successfully lap the Blockers, who travel in a pack attempting to aid their own Jammer and prevent the opposing Jammer from getting through.
Though long known as a rough and tumble sport, we have rules and regulations and utilize required safety equipment and training to achieve safe and successful mutual enjoyment and public entertainment events.
